It is safe to say that just about everyone wants to be wealthy. Some want to be wealthy like Bill Gates, others want to be able to stop working and/or retire early, and some simply want to stop going deeper into debt and dig themselves out of that hole.

So how do you do it? How do you become wealthy?

Step 1 is easy. You have to spend less money than you make. If you make $3,000 a month, you have to spend less than $3,000 a month. There is no way around this fact of life. Step 2 is more interesting. If you want to be truly wealthy — as in, able to quit your job for good — you are going to have to find a way to create passive income. That is, you have to be able to make money without working. There are lots and lots of ways to do that, but here are the three most common:

1) You can start a business. The business will generate money. If you set the business up right, you won't actually have to work there. For example, you can open a restaurant and hire someone to manage it for you. This article This article walks you through the process and has lots of ideas. It also has a great book list to help you learn more.

2) Warren Buffet is one of the richest men in the world, and he has made his money in the stock market. Many people have been able to do this. Of course, lots of people have lost their shirts in the stock market too, so it is not for everyone.
What you will want to do is spend a lot of time learning about the stock market and different ways to play it. If you look on Amazon you can find a million books on the subject. Read 10 of them and start to form a strategy. Then practice before playing with real money.

3) Another common way to make passive income is with real estate. You buy houses and rent them out, for example. Many people preach this path to wealth, including Carlton Sheets and David Kiyosaki. Again, you will need to read and study before you invest real money.

You are going to have to spend some time learning about businesses, the stock market or real estate, but it can be a lot of fun.

Step 3 is easy. Either you enjoy your wealth, or... and this is a little odd... you go off and make even MORE wealth because you enjoy the process so much. Have fun!
